Privacy Policy
Effective date: March 7, 2026
Cihan Tas ("we", "our", or "us") built Pikondo as a free app supported by ads, with an optional Premium subscription. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.
1. Data We Do Not Collect
Pikondo is designed with privacy at its core. The following data is never collected or transmitted:
- Your photos or videos — they never leave your device
- Photo metadata (filenames, GPS location, timestamps)
- Your swipe decisions, deletions, or session history
- Usage analytics or behavioral data
- Crash reports or diagnostic telemetry
- Name, email address, or any personally identifiable information
All photo analysis (duplicate detection, blur detection, screenshot detection) runs entirely on your device using on-device algorithms. No images or analysis results are sent to any server.
2. Photo Library Access
Pikondo requests access to your photo library solely to display, analyze, and help you organize your photos within the app. We read photo assets and metadata (dimensions, file size, creation date) only to power the in-app experience. This data is processed locally and cached on your device. It is never uploaded or shared.
3. Advertising (Google AdMob)
The free tier of Pikondo is supported by ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect and use the following information to serve personalized or non-personalized ads:
- Device identifiers (e.g., advertising ID / IDFA on iOS)
- Device type, OS version, and language
- IP address (used to approximate general location at country/region level)
- Ad interaction events (impressions, clicks)
On iOS, Pikondo requests your permission via Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework before allowing AdMob to use your advertising identifier for personalized ads. If you decline, non-personalized ads are shown instead. You can change this preference at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
AdMob's data practices are governed by Google's Privacy Policy: policies.google.com/privacy
Premium subscribers see no ads. AdMob is not initialized for Premium accounts.
4. Subscriptions (RevenueCat)
Pikondo Premium subscriptions are managed through RevenueCat, a third-party subscription management platform. When you purchase a subscription, RevenueCat processes and stores:
- A randomly generated customer identifier
- Your subscription status, plan type (monthly, annual, or lifetime), and entitlements
- Purchase and renewal timestamps
RevenueCat does not receive your name, email, or payment details — those are handled exclusively by Apple through the App Store. RevenueCat's privacy policy is available at: revenuecat.com/privacy
5. Apple SKAdNetwork & Attribution
Pikondo uses Apple's SKAdNetwork framework, which allows Apple to provide privacy-preserving, aggregated app install attribution. No individual user is identified, and no personal data is shared with third parties through this mechanism.
6. Local Data Storage
Pikondo stores the following data locally on your device only:
- App settings and preferences (swipe sensitivity, haptic feedback, etc.)
- Session history (counts of photos reviewed/deleted, storage freed)
- Detection caches (results of blur, duplicate, and screenshot analysis)
- Streak counts and unlocked achievements
- Your subscription status (synced from RevenueCat)
This data is stored using standard iOS app storage (AsyncStorage and SecureStore) and is never transmitted to any server. It is deleted when you uninstall the app.
7. Children's Privacy
Pikondo is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us and we will take steps to delete such information.
8. Your Rights
Since Pikondo does not collect personal data beyond what AdMob and RevenueCat process under their own policies, most data rights apply directly with those services. However, you can:
- Opt out of personalized ads via iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking
- Reset your advertising identifier in iOS Settings
- Request deletion of RevenueCat data by contacting us
- Delete all local app data by uninstalling Pikondo
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom, you have rights under GDPR including access, rectification, and erasure. If you are a California resident, you have rights under CCPA. Contact us to exercise any of these rights.
9. Data Retention
We do not retain personal data on our own servers. Data held by RevenueCat is retained for the duration of your subscription and for a reasonable period thereafter for accounting and legal purposes. Data held by AdMob is governed by Google's retention policies. Local device data is retained until you uninstall the app.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of Pikondo after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
